Sifu Myrna Boyer’s martial arts career began in 1972 when she trained in the art of Goju Ryu with Shinjimasu International Martial Arts Association in El Paso, Texas. Life’s changes and her career took her to Los Angeles, CA in 1979, where she continued her training in the art of Tae Kwon Do.
In 2003, she came back to her roots both by returning to El Paso and, too, by affiliating once again with Shinjimasu International, training briefly with Master Clarence Beckmon.
In 2004, Myrna established a direct contact with Grand Master Charles A. Dixon, Founder of Shinjimasu International Martial Arts Association, and began her training under his precise leadership and guidance. This opportunity to train and work directly with Professor Dixon proved to be one of the pinnacles of her martial arts experience, eventually opening the door to a multitude of other opportunities in her martial arts career.
In August of 2004, Grand Master Dixon granted Myrna the authority to open her own martial arts academy, and thereby Shinjimasu Academy of Martial Arts opened its doors to the public.
In July of 2006, Myrna was recognized as a 3rd Dan by both Shinjimasu International and Anyos Academy of Martial Arts.
Also in 2006, Myrna met and began to train with Grand Master Salvador Moralez, Jr., Soke of Hsin Lu Chuan Shu Tong – a close relative of the Shinjimasu family. Professor Moralez quickly became her undisputed mentor and teacher, the evolution of which forged a powerful professional relationship which culminated in the transformation of her academy to what is now known as Hsin Lu Tao Academy of Martial Arts, thus officially establishing its lineage within the Hsin Lu family.
In 2007, Professor Moralez promoted Myrna to 4th Degree Black Belt, and recommended that she be inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame as Female Master of the Year (Texas). She was Officially Inducted on August 4th, 2007.
In 2007, Professor Moralez also promoted Myrna to the rank of White Sash, Master Level of the Chinese Arts.
In acknowledgement of her accomplishments in the martial arts, Professor Moralez appointed her a member of the Master’s Council for Hsin Lu International in 2007.
Currently, Myrna continues to expand her knowledge of the martial sciences while overlooking the growth and expansion of Hsin Lu Tao Academy of Martial Arts where she is Founder & Master Instructor. She stands as the head of the dedicated family of Hsin Lu Tao Academy of Martial Arts’ instructors, and continues to promote what she views as the immeasurable value of the Arts through every aspect of her daily and professional life. Her work extends to include significant contributions to the international martial arts community through her proud affiliation with Hsin Lu International.
